Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, has reportedly identified Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford as a top candidate for the club’s left-wing position.
Barcelona had initially targeted Athletic Club’s Nico Williams for their right-wing role, but with the 22-year-old set to stay at his current club, the Spanish giants are now expanding their search for a new forward.
According to reports from Gol’s Albert Fernandez, Flick has submitted a list of preferred left-wingers to Barcelona’s management, and Rashford’s name is among the top choices. Flick is said to admire Rashford’s dribbling skills and goal-scoring ability, making him eager to bring the England international to the Camp Nou.
However, signing Rashford could be a challenge for Barcelona, as the 25-year-old recently extended his contract with Manchester United until 2028. With Barcelona facing financial difficulties, they would need to make a substantial offer to tempt Manchester United into selling one of their star players.
In addition to Rashford, Barcelona has also been linked with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. Reports suggest that Chiesa’s agent has offered the player to Barcelona, and Juventus is open to considering offers. Unlike Rashford, Juventus might be willing to let Chiesa go for a more reasonable price.
As Barcelona continues its search for a new forward, the club will have to weigh its options carefully, considering both the talent available and the financial implications of any potential deals.
