Bendel Insurance fly to Algeria for ASO Chlef clash
One of Nigeria’s CAF Confederation Cup representatives Bendel Insurance FC have flown out of the country to Algeria for the clash vs ASO Chlef.
The encounter this weekend will be second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round fixture between Bendel Insurance and ASO Chlef.
The first leg took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City last weekend, Insurance posting a 1-0 win over the Algerian side.
Monday Odigie tutored Benin Arsenal are now on their way to Algeria where Chlef await in the second leg, with the aggregate winners progressing to the next round.
A win, Draw, 1-2 defeat would be enough to see the Nigerian FA Cup Champions through in the game scheduled to take place at the Stade Mohamed Boumerag on Saturday August 26.
Before the players departure, the team received charge from it’s principal sponsor, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki , Governor of Ed
” I came to the Airport to see you guys and to assure you of government support. I want you to know that we are behind you. I am confident that you will be victorious. I believe you can even perform better than you did in Benin last week Saturday. Go and get the victory.” He charged the team, adding, ” You know something good is waiting for you when you win.” The Governor encouraged them.
