Bendel Insurance heroes enjoy open-top trailer parade around city as they celebrate promotion to NPFL

Bendel Insurance players and coaches have taken to the street to celebrate their promotion in to the Nigeria Professional Football League after 10 years in the National League.

Insurance qualified for the 2019 league after finishing top of the Southern Conference Zone during the just concluded NNL Super 8 in Aba.

Although they lost in the Super 8 final to Kada City, the defeat didnt stop the Edo state government from rewarding their heroes accordingly.

According to reports, the team received the sum of N25m plus a new bus while the Supporters Club also received the sum of N5m plus a new bus.

The two-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions have not played in the top flight league since they were releagted in the 2007-2008 season but will now play among the elite when the league resumes this weekend.
