Benin Republic Vs Nigeria: Super Eagles starting XI
Nigeria Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has named his starting XI for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Benin Republic on Monday evening.
After a disappointing 1-1 draw against South Africa in Uyo on Friday, June 7, Finidi George has made three changes to the team from the last encounter.
Terem Moffi is preferred in attack to Paul Onuachu who faced severe criticism after the Bafana Bafana match. In picking Moffi to lead the attack, Finidi has again overlooked Bayer Leverkusen star, Victor Boniface who was an unused substitute against South Africa.
Samuel Chukwueze is rewarded for his impressive outing from the bench in the last game as he starts ahead of free-agent, Kelechi Iheanacho.
Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka gets into the midfield in place of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru who came off the last game with injury.
Birthday-boy, Stanley Nwabali retains his spot in goal with an unchanged defense quartet of Benjamin Tanimu, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi and Bright Osayi-Samuel.
