Benni McCarthy appointed as new Kenya head coach

The Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) has made plans to appoint former South African footballer Benni McCarthy as the new head coach of the Harambee Stars.

The former Manchester United assistant coach has been in talks with FKF for the past few months, and it seems the deal is now agreed upon and ready to be finalised.

However, McCarthy’s official announcement has been delayed due to FKF’s internal processes and legal issues from former coach Engin Firat, who is demanding unpaid wages.

Kenya will co-host the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) with Tanzania and Uganda, and the tournament is expected to be McCarthy’s first big task with the Harambee Stars.
