Turkish club side, Besiktas were crowned Super Lig champions after they defeated Goztepe 2-1 away from home on the final day of the season following a neck and neck race with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in the league this season.
Croatian defender Domagoj Vida opened the scoring for Besiktas in the 10th minute before Alpaslan Ozturk equalised for the home side. The visitors kept going and were eventually awarded a 69th minute penalty which former Leicester City winger Rachid Ghezzal scored from to make it 2-1 and secure the win for the visitors.
Besiktas regained the Turkish Super Lig crown from Istanbul Basaksehir, making it their 16th such triumph in the league. They prevailed over second placed Galatasaray by a single goal at the end after Galatasaray also won 3-1 against Yeni Malatyaspor on the last day of the season.
