Beşiktaş in Talks to Sign Nigerian Teen Donald Godwin

Turkish Süper Lig giants Beşiktaş J.K. have opened talks to sign Nigerian youngster Donald Godwin from Atlantic Business FC.
The teenage forward caught the eye during a recent trial at Beşiktaş’s training complex in Istanbul. Godwin travelled to Turkey alongside teammates Moses Kehinde and Oluwatobi Ewarawon, but it is Godwin who has now become the club’s priority target.
All three players have returned to their base in Ogun State, but negotiations between Beşiktaş and Godwin’s representatives are progressing quickly, with a deal expected soon.
Godwin’s impressive form in Nigeria’s Creative Championship League has attracted attention from Europe. He has scored 13 goals this season, helping to highlight his potential. If the transfer is completed, he is likely to join Beşiktaş’s U-19 side, giving him time to adapt to European football while continuing his development.
Wilfred Ndidi’s influence is also seen as a factor in Beşiktaş’s interest. The Nigerian midfielder joined the club in 2025 and has become a key figure in the squad, helping to strengthen ties between the club and Nigerian football.
For Atlantic Business FC, the deal could be a major milestone, boosting the club’s reputation and visibility in international scouting networks. It also highlights a growing trend among Turkish clubs of targeting Nigeria’s grassroots football system for high-potential talent.
