Kennedy Boboye unveiled at Sunshine Stars

Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have officially announced the appointment of Kennedy Boboye as the team’s Technical Adviser, marking a new chapter for the club.

Boboye, a seasoned coach with experience at clubs like Plateau United, Abia Warriors, and Heartland, agreed to take the reins at Sunshine Stars following the dismissal of former coach Edith Agoye, who left the team in 14th place on the league table.

Joining Boboye in the coaching setup are Kayode Julius as Chief Coach, Nwachukwu Ifeanyi as Assistant Coach, and John Gaadi as Goalkeeper Trainer. The unveiling ceremony also welcomed the return of 2013 AFCON winner Godfrey Itama Oboabona to the team after successful stints with clubs in Europe.

Oboabona’s experience is expected to bolster the squad as Boboye aims to guide Sunshine Stars back to winning ways. Expressing his gratitude to the team’s management for the opportunity, Boboye emphasized the importance of collective effort in achieving success.

“I’m glad I’m back home,” said Boboye. “Sunshine Stars remain in my heart, and with God and the collective support of everyone, we shall succeed and achieve the desired results.”

The unveiling ceremony was attended by notable figures including Mrs. Foluke Daramola, Permanent Secretary of the Ondo State Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, and Mr. Tokunbo Akinyelure, Coordinator of Sunshine Stars FC, among others.
