Boniface Calm After Brief Police Stop Following Bremen Win

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was briefly stopped by police after Werder Bremen’s 2–1 victory over Wolfsburg on Friday night, in what has been described as a harmless misunderstanding.
The 24-year-old forward, who assisted one of Bremen’s goals in the Bundesliga clash, was driving home from the Weserstadion when he was reportedly pulled over by officers. Eyewitnesses said Boniface spoke briefly with a female police officer before continuing his journey.
Club sources later confirmed that the Nigerian was neither detained nor fined, explaining that he had only taken a wrong turn while leaving the stadium. The situation was quickly resolved, and Boniface went on his way without further issues.
Boniface has been a regular starter for Bremen this season, creating chances and working hard for the team, though he is still searching for his first goal of the campaign. His last competitive goal came in March 2025 while playing for Bayer Leverkusen before joining Bremen in the summer.
With the international break approaching, Boniface is expected to join the Super Eagles camp in Uyo as he looks to rediscover his scoring form and help Nigeria in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
