Boniface Scores in Leverkusen’s Draw with Werder Bremen
Bayer Leverkusen could not hold on to their one-goal lead as Werder Bremen fought back to earn a 2-2 draw, despite Victor Boniface getting on the scoresheet.
Boniface made his return to Xabi Alonso’s team just a week after being involved in a serious car accident. Thankfully, the Super Eagles striker escaped with only minor injuries from the crash.
Back in the lineup, Boniface showed no signs of slowing down. He opened the scoring for Leverkusen in the first half, marking his fourth consecutive goal this season.
The goal came in the 30th minute following a brilliant play by Jeremie Frimpong, who provided a perfect pass for Boniface. The striker fired a clean shot past Werder Bremen’s goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.
Despite Leverkusen’s early lead, Werder Bremen managed to fight back and force a draw, leaving Xabi Alonso’s team frustrated with the result.
This game marks another strong performance from Boniface, who has quickly become a key player for Bayer Leverkusen this season.
