Boniface Shows Support for Osimhen After Tough Night in Front of Goal
Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has praised his Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, despite the Galatasaray star struggling to score in his latest Turkish Super Lig outing.
Osimhen, who has been in fine form this season, had a rare off day during Galatasaray’s 2-0 win over Bodrum FK on Friday night. The Nigerian forward failed to add to his 21 league goals, missing four clear chances in the match. He played 86 minutes and managed three shots on target but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Even though he didn’t score, Osimhen’s movement and attacking presence caused plenty of problems for Bodrum’s defence. His efforts helped create space for teammates, and Galatasaray eventually got the breakthrough through Lucas Torreira in the 29th minute, with Davinson Sánchez sealing the win late on.
After the game, Osimhen posted on social media as usual. In the comments, Boniface simply wrote: “The best”, showing his strong support for his fellow Nigerian despite the goalless outing.
The comment from Boniface highlighted the respect between the two strikers, who have formed a close bond both on and off the pitch. They regularly interact on social media, encouraging each other as they continue to shine in Europe.
With Galatasaray now six points ahead of rivals Fenerbahçe in the title race, Osimhen and his team will be focused on finishing the season strongly. Meanwhile, Boniface continues to enjoy a great campaign with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
Their friendship and mutual respect reflect the unity among Super Eagles stars, even as they compete in different leagues.
