Bordeaux 3 Nimes 3: Samuel Kalu opens account in six-goal thriller

Super Eagles attacker, Samuel Kalu has opened his goalscoring account for his new club in their six-goal thriller on Sunday.

The former Gent forward was among the goal scorers as Bordeaux were forced to a 3-3 draw in their Ligue 1 round 5 clash at the Matmut Atlantique stadium.

Jimmy Briand put the hosts in front in the 26th minutes. Younousse Sankhare assisted the goal. Baptiste Guillaume leveled the scoreline for Nimes with a fine strike in the 31st minutes.

Antonin Bobichon put the visitors in front in the 45th minutes of the clash. At the interval, Samuel Kalu and his teammates were on the back foot.

A fine ball from Sergi Palencia set Jimmy Briand up for his second and Bordeaux’s second to restore parity for the hosts.

Newly capped Super Eagles attacker, Samuel Kalu stepped up to put his side in front in the 57th mi utes just one minute after Jimmy Briand equalized for the hosts.

Just when it looked like Samuel Kalu’s first league strike in four league games would have settled the clash, Umot Bozok pegged the hosts back in the 77th minutes.

Samuel Kalu was everywhere on Sunday trying to work things out for his side but his efforts not enough as the away team snatched a draw on the day he opened his goalscoring account.
