Boston Celtics blow out Heat, level thrilling Eastern Conference Final series 2-2
The Boston Celtics secured a crushing 102-82 win over the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final to level the series at 2-2 and ensure that the sides will play at least two more games in the series.
After losing to Miami Heat in Game 3, the Boston Celtics needed to make a fast start in Game 4. They were without Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, who had a sprained ankle. The Heat were also without their own Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro.
The Celtics raced to a 26-4 lead in the opening quarter before finishing the first quarter with a 29-11 lead. The second quarter saw the Celtics lead by up to 32 points before ending the first half with a 57-33 lead.
The second half of the game was closely contested between the sides, with Miami Heat edging it 49-45 to ensure that the game ended 102-82.
Jayson Tatum had an impressive performance for the Celtics with 31 points, Payton Pritchard scored 14 points, Derrick White scored 13 points and Jaylen Brown had 12 points in the game. Miami Heat had a problem with scoring in the game, with Victor Oladipo scoring 23 points. Their entire starting five tallied only 18 points in total.
