Boston Celtics defeat Heat, take 3-2 lead in Eastern Conference Final

The Ime Udoka-led Boston Celtics took a giant step towards winning the Eastern Conference Final by claiming a 93-80 win over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the series.

With the series finely balanced after the first four games, the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat knew that Game 5 was going to be pivotal, and it turned out to be very much so.

Miami Heat came out of the blocks faster in what was a low-scoring half and led each of the first two quarters 19-17 and 23-20 to end the first half with a 42-37 lead.

Boston Celtics managed to turn the game on its head in the third quarter as they managed to take a 32-16 lead, overturning the deficit while leading with 11 points at the end of the third quarter. They completed the job with a 24-22 lead in the fourth quarter to win the game by 13 points 93-80.

Jaylen Brown led the scoring for the Celtics with 25 points in the game, and All-NBA First-teamer Jayson Tatum scored 22 points and 12 rebounds. Al Horford scored 16 points and Derrick White added 14 points.

For the Heat, their offense was locked down by the Celtics, with Bam Adebayo leading the scoring with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Gabe Vincent scored 15 points and Jimmy Butler only managed 13 points.
