Chelsea have confirmed the signing of highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Vasco Da Gama for £18million.
The 18-year-old has signed a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge after he wa linked with moves to Newcastle, Manchester City.
Santos becomes Chelsea’s third signing of the January transfer window following the likes of David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile.
He made his senior debut for Vasco Da Gama at the age of 17 and has represented Brazil up to the U-20 level.
Santos is looking forward to playing in the Premier League in the colours of Chelsea.
“It’s a very big opportunity for me. This is a big club playing in big competitions like the Premier League so I am very excited. The players here are so good and I am very happy to be here.”
He has been described as an energetic box-to-box with eye for goals ans assists.
