Brighton Coach Proud as Agyemang and Nnadozie Shine at Ballon d’Or

Brighton & Hove Albion Women’s head coach, Dario Vidosic, has praised his players Michelle Agyemang and Chiamaka Nnadozie after both were nominated for top awards at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
The pair were recognised for their brilliant performances over the summer. Agyemang helped England win UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 and was named Young Player of the Tournament. Nnadozie played a key role in Nigeria’s WAFCON triumph, keeping four clean sheets and winning the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award.
Speaking on the club’s website, Vidosic said the entire Brighton family was proud to see them nominated.
“As a club, squad, and everyone involved in our women’s programme, we’re all really proud of them,” said the former Australian midfielder.
“It’s a fantastic achievement to be recognised at such a prestigious event in world football.”
Vidosic also highlighted the players’ contributions to their national teams:
“They both had an incredible summer, lifting major trophies with their countries. It just shows how important they were to their teams’ success.”
He went on to reflect on their journey:
“I’m sure when they were kids kicking a ball around in the garden, they dreamed of moments like this. To now see them nominated is just amazing.”
“They should both be proud of what they’ve achieved.”
Agyemang was nominated for the Women’s Kopa Trophy, finishing 4th overall, while Nnadozie placed 4th in the Women’s Yacine Trophy rankings.
Vidosic, 38, said their success reflects not just their talent, but also their hard work and passion for the game.
Also nominated on the night was Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu, representing Nigeria alongside Nnadozie.
