Brothers Beyond Borders: Kamaru Usman shows love to Francis Ngannou
Nigerian-American MMA star Kamaru Usman, known as the “Nigerian Nightmare,” made headlines recently for his touching gesture of support towards former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Francis Ngannou recently mourned the loss of his young son, Kobe, and Usman stood by his side during the funeral service few days ago.
18 months old, Kobe was laid to rest in Cameroon, where Ngannou hails from. Usman, along with football icon Samuel Eto’o, attended the funeral to show solidarity with Ngannou.
Following the funeral, Usman and Ngannou remained in Cameroon. Usman took to social media to share photos of their visit to cows in the area, accompanied by a heartfelt message expressing admiration for Ngannou’s strength during this challenging period.
“As they say “God reserves the toughest battles for the toughest soldiers” love you my brother @francisngannou 👊🏿🌍🤴🏿 #sonsofthesoil.” Usman wrote.
The MMA community rallied around Ngannou, offering condolences and support. Despite the tragic loss, Ngannou’s resilience shone through, as seen in images circulating online showing him smiling.
In a touching display of camaraderie, Ngannou, alongside Usman, participated in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters’ graduation ceremony at the Francis Ngannou Foundation in Batié, demonstrating their bond beyond the octagon.
