Brown Ideye slams welfare of players in the NPFL
Nigerian international Brown Ideye has shared his views on the state of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), saying that the league is not getting better.
Ideye, who has played for top European clubs such as Dynamo Kyiv and Olympiakos, made a surprise move to Enyimba, one of the biggest clubs in Nigeria, with the goal of helping to develop the local game.
In a recent interview, Ideye reflected on his time in the NPFL, highlighting the challenges he has faced. He said, “The system is getting worse, and the league is not improving. I feel like we still have a long way to go. My time with Enyimba has been great, but the league needs to improve in many areas.”
He pointed out issues such as poor travel arrangements, bad food, inadequate hotels, and poor conditions for players to relax. He added, “We are not ready for international competitions yet. We need to fix these problems before we can compete at that level.”
As one of the most experienced players in the NPFL, Ideye’s comments are important and could spark discussion about the future of Nigerian football. His thoughts on the league will be closely followed in the months ahead.
