Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is ready to return from injury and could feature in Tuesday’s Premier League match against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium, manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed.
Saka has been out for three months after undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury sustained during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on 21 December. The England international has been a key player for the Gunners this season, scoring nine goals and providing 10 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
Arteta Confirms Saka’s Return
“Bukayo Saka is ready to go,” Arteta said.
“We have followed all the necessary steps. Now it’s about introducing him at the right moment, but he’s eager to play.
“We have respected the recovery timeline and done everything required. Bukayo is a massive asset to our team, and we know how important he is to our success.”
Arsenal’s Premier League Position
Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool with nine matches left to play. The return of Saka could provide a crucial boost as the Gunners look to close the gap in the title race.
Calafiori Sidelined with Injury
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori will be out for several weeks after picking up a knee injury while on international duty with Italy against Germany on 20 March.
“It could have been much worse,” Arteta said. “Hopefully, it will only be a matter of weeks, but we need to see how he recovers.”
