‘Buy Victor Osimhen’ – Rio Ferdinand sends message to Arsenal

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has advised Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to target Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in the upcoming January transfer window.

Ferdinand believes that Osimhen, a prolific goal scorer, could help Arsenal boost their title challenge. The club has struggled with a lack of firepower up front this season, often relying on set-pieces to break down opponents.

Currently, Arsenal sit third in the Premier League, behind Liverpool and Chelsea.

Ferdinand told Football Transfers: “Arsenal don’t have a number nine who’s impacting games right now. I’d suggest signing someone who can come in and make an immediate impact. I would go for Osimhen.”

Although Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, may not be available in January, a move in the summer of 2025 could be more realistic.

As one of Europe’s most lethal forwards, Osimhen would significantly strengthen Arsenal’s attack and improve their chances of winning the Premier League title.

The Gunners will face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this weekend, aiming to keep up with Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the table.
