Caddie Ciplinski discharged after being struck by golf ball
Caddie William Ciplinski has been discharged from hospital after being struck on the head by a golf ball at Royal Troon during a practice session for The Open on Tuesday.
Ciplinski, caddying for Open debutant Marco Dawson, required treatment after being hit by a stray tee shot from Vijay Singh at the seventh.
He was admitted to the University Hospital Ayr after being taken away on a golf buggy.
Ciplinski was said to be in a stable condition on Tuesday evening and a hospital spokesperson confirmed to Omnisport on Wednesday that he had been discharged.
The first round of the major gets under way on Thursday.
