Cade Cunningham joins elite Company of Players
Cade Cunningham lit up the league this week with two unforgettable fourth-quarter performances that put him in rare company. The Detroit Pistons guard became just the third player in the last five seasons to record back-to-back fourth quarters with 19 or more points. The NBA’s official stats account on X confirmed the feat.
According to official records, only Jamal Murray (Feb 17 and 19, 2021) and Kyrie Irving (Jan 19 and 20, 2023) had done it before. Cunningham now joins that exclusive list after his scoring bursts on November 3 and 5, 2025, leading the Pistons to consecutive wins.
On November 3, he scored 33 points, with 19 coming in the final quarter to rally Detroit past Memphis. Two nights later, he added 31 points and another 19 in the fourth to take down Utah. His late-game heroics have quickly become one of the biggest stories of the young NBA season.
At just 24, Cunningham is showing the control and confidence of a veteran closer. If he keeps this form, his name could soon be mentioned among the league’s best finishers.
