CAF CC: Al Nasr Head Coach admits overturning 5-0 deficit vs Rivers United will be difficult
Following his sides 5-0 spanking in hands of Rivers United FC, Al Nasr Benghazi of Libya head coach Zoran Milinkovic has admitted it will be difficult to overturn the deficit in the return leg.
Coach Milinkovic made this admission in his post match press conference at the Adokieye Amasiamaka stadium Port Harcourt after his teams 5-0 humbling in the CAF Confederation Cup playoff first leg encounter.
The visiting manager was full of admiration for their ruthless hosts Rivers United and admitted the Pride of Rivers deserved the 5-0 victory on Wednesday.
Rivers United won courtesy of a brace from Ebube Duru, Kazie Enyinnaya, Paul Acquah and Malachi Ohawume to ensure Al Nasr Benghazi have a mountain to climb in the return leg on Wednesday November 9.
WHAT ZORAN MILINKOVIC SAID
“Our performance today was very bad and Rivers United was the better team.
“Overturning this result in the second leg is very difficult but we have to play the game and do much better.
“The referee awarded two penalties but it looks like everything is against us today, nothing worked for us today. ”
WHAT NEXTÂ
Coach Zoran Milinkovic and his charges will return to Libya where preparations for the return leg will begin in earnest.
Al Nasr Benghazi must overturn the 0-5 aggregate deficit or at least register same scoreline to force extra time and if necessary, penalty shoot-out in front of their fans.
Failure to get the desired result will see them bow out of the CAF Confederation Cup while Rivers United FC will join seven others in the group stage of the competition.
Like Coach Zoran Milinkovic admitted, Al Nasr Benghazi have a difficult job in their hands.
