CAF Club Competitions: Nigerian clubs know preliminary round opponents
The draws for the 2024/2025 CAF Inter-Club competitions were conducted on Thursday, July 11, 2024, bringing mixed feelings for Nigeria’s representatives.
Nigeria will be represented in the continent by Rangers International, Remo Stars, Enyimba FC and El-Kanemi Warriors for the 2024/2025 season.
In the Champions League, Remo Stars face a tough challenge as they were drawn against Moroccan side AS FAR in the first preliminary round. Meanwhile, Champions Rangers International got a relatively easier opponent with a tie against Comoros champion Zilimadjou.
In the Confederation Cup, Federation Cup champions El-Kanemi Warriors have a challenging road ahead. They will play against Dadje FC of Benin in the first round. If they win, they will face former champions RS Berkane of Morocco in the second round.
Enyimba International received a bye in the first preliminary round and will play the winner of the match between Hafia of Guinea and Rahimo FC of Burkina Faso in the next round.
The games for the first preliminary round are slated for August 16-25, while the dates for the second round are scheduled for September 13-22.
