CAF Confederation Cup Final: ” We are perfectly poised to make it a memorable event ” – Elder Paul Bassey

General Coordinator for the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup final organizing committee Elder Paul Bassey is confident his committee is ” perfectly poised ” to deliver a memorable final at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.

South Africa’s Orlando Pirates will face Morocco’s RSB Berkane in the final game of this years CAF Confederation Cup on Friday 20th May 2022 at the Magnificent Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo.

Elder Bassey a renowned sports administrator is not new to organizing events of this magnitude having cordinated and excelled with international and local events over the past two decades.

In a chat with press men on Tuesday morning, the General Coordinator disclosed Information on kickoff time , arrival dates for the finalists plus expected guests for the showpiece event.

He said ” The LOC has established contact with the camps of both teams and I can confirm that the teams will be arriving Uyo tomorrow”, 

“As per the directive from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), I can confirm to you that kick-off for the match is at 8:00pm and we at the LOC are perfectly poised to make it a memorable occasion that the entirety of Africa will be proud of”.

Also, a Tripartite security meeting CAF-NFF-LOC holds today at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium to fine tune modalities for a hitch free game.

In a related development Pitch Consultant Jorge Palma has expressed excitement about the perfect condition of the playing turf at the venue. An assessment that will excite both sets of players as they get set for the game on Friday night.

FA Presidents of WAFU countries Ghana, Togo, Cote D’Ivoire , Benin Republic are expected to grace the final as special guests.
