CAFCC: Nigeria To Have Two Rep. In Group Stage
Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup, Enyimba FC and Rangers Intl have both progressed into the group stage of Africa’s second tier club competition after staging wins over TS Galaxy and ASC Kara respectively.
Ghanaian defender Daniel Darkwah put Enyimba ahead in the 76th minute to be doubled by Martins Usule who scored the second goal in the first leg as Enyimba ran out 2-1 winners on the night and 4-1 on aggregate to seal group stage qualification.
In Enugu, Rangers secured their passage on away goal rule having lost the first leg 2–1 in Lome last weekend.
Chinonso Eziekwe netted the decisive strike for Rangers in the 17th minute of the keenly contested match.
There has been no club side from Nigeria to have won the CAF Confederations Cup.
