CAFCC Quarterfinals: Rivers United drawn against Young Africans
Pride of Rivers to face Tanzanian opposition
NPFL Champions Rivers United have been drawn against Tanzanian outfit Young Africans SC in the quarterfinals of the 2022-23 CAF Confederation Cup after the draw was held in Cairo. The Pride of Rivers will host the Tanzanian side in the first leg on April 23rd before the second leg takes place in Tanzania a week later.
Rivers United picked up their first-ever ticket to the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup with a game to spare in their group before losing their final group game to ASEC Mimosas to finish second behind the Ivorian club. The club received a $350,000 largesse for reaching the stage of the competition.
The Pride of Rivers are no strangers to facing Young Africans, having faced them twice as recently as in 2021. The Nigerian side won 1-0 on both occasions, home and away.
