Caitlin Clark named 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year
Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark has been named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, falling just one vote short of a unanimous decision.
The 22-year-old guard received 66 out of 67 first-place votes in a survey of sportswriters and broadcasters, edging out Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, who earned one first-place vote.
Clark’s remarkable rookie season saw her break multiple records, including the WNBA single-season marks for points scored (769), assists (337), and three-pointers made (122). She averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists (a league record), 5.7 rebounds, and 1.33 steals per game in 40 regular-season starts.
In addition to being named the Associated Press’s Rookie of the Year earlier this week, Clark was also selected as the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for August and started in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game. She won four Kia WNBA Rookie of the Month awards and was recognized as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times.
Clark’s debut season was nothing short of historic, with her outstanding scoring and playmaking making her one of the standout players in the league.
