Calabar Rovers Appoint Christian Okonkwo as New Head Coach

Nigeria National League (NNL) club, Calabar Rovers, have named Christian Okonkwo as their new head coach, SportsRation reports.

He takes over from Emmanuel King who briefly succeeded Coach Caleb Esu, who recently became an assistant coach with Nigeria’s under-20 team.

Before this, Okonkwo worked as an assistant coach at Solution FC in Awka.

Speaking to Complete Sports, he said:
“I’m no longer with Solution FC. I’ve moved to Calabar Rovers, where I’m now the Head Coach.”

He will work with Obinna Achebe, who has just been appointed as the assistant coach.

The new NNL season is set to start on Saturday, 8 November.
