Calvin Bassey the hero as Fulham beat Nottingham Forest

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey was Fulham’s hero as he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Ola Aina’s Nottingham Forest in their Premier League match at Craven Cottage.

The Nigerian centre-back headed in the crucial goal in the 62nd minute, giving Marco Silva’s team all three points.

It was Bassey’s first goal of the season in his 24th Premier League appearance.

The left-footed defender, known for his strong defending, showed his attacking ability by reacting quickly to a Raul Jimenez header from a corner.

Positioned well inside the box, the 25-year-old nodded the ball past Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels, putting Fulham back in front and sparking celebrations among the home fans.

Besides his goal, Bassey had a solid defensive performance, helping to stop Nottingham Forest’s attacks with his teammates.

He was strong in the air and made important interceptions as Forest tried to find a late equaliser. His efforts at both ends of the pitch showed his growing importance in the Fulham team.

The win was a big boost for Fulham, but the day belonged to Bassey, who keeps proving himself in the Premier League.

With displays like this, the Nigerian international is building a reputation as a reliable defender who steps up in key moments.
