Coach wants a traditional goalie, Onana wants to continue as a new school goalie
Coach Rigobert Song has dropped goalkeeper Andre Onana for their must-win game against Serbia over a disagreement in playing style.

According to reports, Rigobert Song wasn’t pleased with Andre Onana who received the ball more than 40 times during Cameroon’s 1-0 defeat to Switzerland in their first game.
Rigobert Song is against new school goalkeeper demands where they are allowed to play the ball out from the back and be part of the build-up.
He wants his goalkeeper to just be a goalkeeper and do his just only in the box, but Andre Onana who is used to being asked to play out the ball disagrees.
Andre Onana’s 26 touches outside the box against the Swiss is the record for goalkeeper touches outside the box in World Cup history.
Andre Onana is one of the best ball-playing goalkeepers in the world, he is good at distributing with his legs but Rigobert Songs wants a traditional defender.
Hence, the reason he decided to drop Andre Onana who is one of the best goalkeepers in the Italian Serie A for a Saudi-based goalie.
