Can Man Utd beat Atleti to complete PL sweep of league champions in UCL?

The English teams are flying in this years Champions League and it has been the case in recent years.

Clubs from the English Premier League have been dominating the UEFA Champions League.

In 2019, two English clubs Liverpool and Tottenham played in the final. In 2021 it was the turn of Chelsea and Manchester City in the final.

This year they are out again to take their places in the finals after impressive performances in the group stages, and now in the first leg of the Round of 16.

All four representatives from England made it into the round of 16 and three out of four have won their first leg encounters.

They didn’t just win, they did beating the league champions from other European countries and keeping clean sheets in the process.

Liverpool defeated Italian Serie A champions, Inter Milan 2-0 at Giuseppe Meazza.

Manchester City were ruthless against the Portuguese champions, Sporting Lisbon, winning 5-0 at Estádio José Alvalade as Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum watch her favourite team get decimated.

Last night, the European champions, Chelsea also defeated Lille who are the French Ligue 1 champions 2-0 at the Stamford Bridge.

It is the turn of Harry Maguire led Manchester United to defeat the Spanish La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitan to complete a clean sweep of the champions by Premier League teams.

It will surely be a tough one for Manchester United considering their recent form.

But when you have the great Cristiano Ronaldo in your team, you can adopt the Adidas slogan “impossible is nothing.”
