Carlo Ancelotti to Leave Real Madrid at End of Season
Carlo Ancelotti has decided to leave his role as manager of Real Madrid at the end of this season, according to reports. This comes despite Ancelotti renewing his contract with the club in December 2023, with rumours linking him to the Brazilian national team job.
Ancelotti has had a successful second spell at Real Madrid, winning the Champions League in 2021/22 and 2023/24, as well as La Liga titles in those same years.
In December, Ancelotti said he had two years left on his contract and that deals can be both broken or extended. He mentioned in an interview with Radio Anchio, reported by beIN Sport, “It’s an honour and a pleasure to coach Real Madrid. Winning is never easy, but doing it here is a bit easier than in other places. I’m happy here and I don’t think about my future.”
Despite his success, Ancelotti is now said to be looking for a new challenge. The rest of the season will be closely watched as he aims to leave on a high. Real Madrid will also start searching for a new manager to continue their quest for more titles.
