Carlos Alcaraz beats Daniil Medvedev to reach China Open final

Carlos Alcaraz, the world number three, showed his athletic skills again as he reached the final of the China Open by beating Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-3 on Tuesday.

“I felt great on the court again, so I’m really happy,” said Alcaraz. “I don’t think I could have asked for a better semifinal.”

The 21-year-old Spaniard, who has won four Grand Slam titles, now has a 6-2 record against Medvedev. He will face either world number one Jannik Sinner or Chinese wild card Bu Yunchaokete in the final.

The first set was tough, with five breaks of serve, but Alcaraz secured the set with a break in the 12th game. After winning the first set, he played with more confidence, and Medvedev struggled to keep up. Alcaraz finished the match in 88 minutes.

Alcaraz has now won eight matches in a row, including victories in the Davis Cup, Laver Cup, and now in Beijing, since his loss at the U.S. Open.
