Carrick Hails Akpom For Shooting Down Swansea
Middlesborough coach, Michael Carrick has reserved special praise for Chuba Akpom after another impressive performance in the 3-1 win over Swansea on Saturday.
The in-form striker registered his name on the score sheet from the penalty spot for the third goal.
Akpom has blossomed under Carrick, since he took over last year and he has hailed his input for the club.
“It’s fantastic when someone in your team scores the goals that he has, but the biggest thing for me has been seeing Chuba grow, as a player and as a person,” Carrick said per The Northern Echo.
“Having that taste of goals and of success, he’s using that as motivation to push himself even more.”
Akpom has scored 22 goals in 28 appearances for Middlesbrough in the Championship this season.
Middlesbrough currently occupy the third position in the Championship with 63 points.
