Cavs beat OKC to extend streak, Hornets down Raptors in OT

The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their winning streak to four games after edging the Oklahoma City Thunder 104-100 in the NBA on Thursday.

LeBron James had a game-high 33 points and 11 assists as the Cavs rallied from four points down at the start of the fourth quarter to maintain their good form.

Kevin Durant (25), who was backed by James pre-game to challenge Kareem Abdul-Jamar’s all-time career points scoring record, and Thunder team-mates Russell Westbrook (27, 10 assists) and Serge Ibaka (23) combined for 75 points.

However, the star-studded match-up was overshadowed by an incident involving the wife of PGA Tour star Jason Day.

World number two Day’s wife, Ellie, was taken to hospital on a stretcher when James stumbled into the first row of seats as he chased a loose ball toward the end of the fourth quarter, landing directly on top of the mother of two.

James later tweeted: “Ellie Day I hope you’re doing okay! My apologies! Hope u guys come back to another game soon. Love LJ!.”

Jeremy Lin, meanwhile, starred as the Charlotte Hornets defeated the Toronto Raptors 109-99 in overtime.

Lin posted a season-high 39 points to lead the Hornets.

Kemba Walker contributed 27 points, while DeMar DeRozan had 31 points for the Raptors.

In Thursday’s only other game, the Houston Rockets accounted for the Los Angeles Lakers 107-87.
