Celestine Babayaro advises Chelsea to sign Osimhen and Lookman
Former Chelsea and Nigeria star Celestine Babayaro has advised the Blues to sign Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman in the next transfer window.
Babayaro believes the two Nigerian forwards would greatly improve Chelsea’s attack under new manager Enzo Maresca. He said both players would be a perfect fit for the team and could help turn Chelsea into serious contenders for the Premier League title.
Speaking to AfricaFoot, Babayaro said, “Lookman and Osimhen would fit in perfectly at Chelsea. It’s obvious they would have an immediate impact if they joined. We’re talking about two of the best strikers in Europe right now.”
The former Chelsea and Newcastle defender also mentioned that African players have a strong history at Chelsea, and he is confident Osimhen and Lookman would continue that tradition.
“They would form the core of the team and make Chelsea instant title contenders,” he added. “They’re also smart signings because both have just one year left on their contracts.”
Babayaro suggested Chelsea could include Nicolas Jackson in a swap deal, especially for Osimhen, saying, “In one of the deals, probably Osimhen’s, they could trade Jackson, which I think would be a smart move.
