Chase Adams delivered a historic performance, scoring ten goals as the United States U-17 men’s national team dominated the U.S. Virgin Islands 22-0 in their 2025 CONCACAF U-17 Championship qualifying match at Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica.
The win set a new record for the most goals ever scored by a U.S. team in World Cup qualifying at any level. Adams’ ten-goal haul also made him the highest individual scorer in a single U.S. qualifying match, cementing his place in the history books.
Early Domination and Record-Breaking Goals
The U.S. wasted no time, with Chance Cowell opening the scoring in the 2nd minute. Maximo Carrizo added another in the 5th, before Adams netted his first in the 8th minute. By the 13th minute, Adams had already secured his hat-trick, and the U.S. was well on its way to an emphatic victory.
Carrizo, Adams, and Cowell continued to pile on the goals, with the team heading into halftime at 14-0—already a record-breaking performance.
