Chelsea boss Maresca focuses on team Improvement ahead of Fulham clash
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says his main goal is to improve his team rather than think about the Premier League title race.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s match against Fulham, Maresca emphasised that developing the players and refining the team’s performance is the priority.
Chelsea’s Current Position
Chelsea are second in the Premier League table with 35 points, four points behind leaders Liverpool.
What Maresca Said
“We are ahead of expectations in terms of how we are playing and the points we have. Our focus is on improving the players and the team,” Maresca told reporters via Reuters.
“It’s not about the pressure of chasing the title. I would like that pressure, but we are not there yet. The main goal is to keep improving and winning games.”
He added: “The table reflects where teams are right now. Liverpool have been fantastic from the start. I think Manchester City will eventually challenge, but they are struggling with injuries after every game. It’s a tough situation for them.”
West London Derby
Chelsea will face Fulham in a West London derby on Thursday. They hope to keep their momentum and stay close to Liverpool in the title race.
