Chelsea have completed the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa for a reported £7.5 million fee
Martínez has signed a two-year contract with Chelsea until June 2028, with the agreement also including an option to extend his stay until June 2029.
The Argentine goalkeeper leaves Aston Villa after becoming an important figure for the club, while also establishing himself as one of the most recognised goalkeepers in world football through his performances for Argentina.
Chelsea will hope Martínez can bring valuable experience, leadership and quality to their goalkeeping department as they prepare for the new season.
The move adds further experience to Chelsea’s squad as the club continues to strengthen its team and compete for major honours.
