Chelsea set club & Premier League worst records in 3-0 loss at Sheffield
Chelsea have set club and Premier League worst ever records in their 3-0 loss to Sheffield United at the Bramall Lane on Saturday.
The Blades were too much for The Blues as brace from David McGoldrick and his strike partner Oliver McBurnie condemned Chelsea to a 3-0 defeat despite enjoying the largest possession.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea had 76% possession while Sheffield United had just 24% but the ball possession accounted for nothing as Chris Wilder men took the maximum points.
The defeat despite having the largest possession meant Chelsea are the first team since 2003-04 when full possession data was made available, to end up on the losing end with such margin (3-0) in a Premier League game despite having as much as 76% possession.
The club have also conceded a total of 49 goals in 35 league games, this is the club’s worst ever defensive record since 1997 and the worst ever of the Roman Abramovich era!
