Chelsea set to beat Liverpool to Werner’s transfer; Man Utd interests Havertz?
Chelsea are reportedly set to beat Liverpool to the signature of Leipzig and Germany star Timo Werner while Kai Havertz is also claimed to be interested in a move to Premier League and Manchester United seems to be his preferred destination.
For Timo Werner, a move to Chelsea is almost a done deal according to various reports.
In fact, German tabloid, Bild, confirmed that the Timo Werner deal will cost Chelsea about €60m and the striker would sign a five-year-contract.
Liverpool who are Timo Werner’s favourite club are reluctant to activate his release clause which will expire on the 15th of June but Chelsea are ready to pull the trigger.
Popular journo, Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the deal is very close and the only thing that can stop the move is if Liverpool match their rivals bid for the German.
‘Liverpool still haven’t started official talks with Leipzig for Werner, always asked for time. Only talks with the player through Klöpp.
‘Chelsea are ready with an official bid and if Liverpool will not match it on next hours, Werner will discuss his contract with Chelsea,’ said Romano.
Meanwhile, another Bundesliga top prospect, Kai Havertz is also said to be interested in a move to Manchester United.
Manchester Evening News claims that United have a realistic chance of signing the Leverkusen attacker as he is interested in a move to English football.
The move may cost Manchester United around £80m considering the 21-year-old attacker has another two year left on his contract.
