Chelsea urged to sign Victor Osimhen before transfer deadline

Chelsea legend William Gallas has called on his former club to act swiftly and secure the signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli before the transfer window closes.

Gallas, speaking to Genting Casino, praised Osimhen’s potential to transform Chelsea’s attack. “In a similar way to Didier Drogba, Victor Osimhen can bring Chelsea to the next level,” Gallas stated. “Looking at what he has done with Napoli, leading them to the title, he could do that with Chelsea. Chelsea need a striker, and I don’t know what they are waiting for.”

Chelsea has been linked with Osimhen throughout the summer, with discussions reportedly involving a loan deal with a buy option. However, with the club nearing a deal for Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion, Gallas expressed concern that Chelsea might miss out on the Nigerian striker.

Victor Osimhen, who has been a standout performer for Napoli, is expected to leave the Italian club this summer. Meanwhile, Chelsea is also moving forward with talks to sign Wolves’ winger Pedro Neto for a reported fee of 60 million euros, as new manager Enzo Maresca looks to strengthen the squad and compete at the top of the Premier League.
