Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 2–0 victory over Everton in the Premier League, a result that lifted them back into the top four, ending a three-game winless run and restoring confidence around Stamford Bridge.
Cole Palmer scored the opening goal in the 21st minute. This was his first goal since September and his first match back after injury. The goal gave Chelsea an early lead and settled the game in their favor.
Chelsea scored again just before halftime when Malo Gusto found the net with a strike from outside the box. It was his first goal for the club and made it 2–0 at the break.
Everton struggled to create chances but could not get past Chelsea’s goalkeeper. Chelsea saw out the second half without conceding and kept a clean sheet.
The match followed comments from Enzo Maresca, who said the previous 48 hours had been the hardest since he joined Chelsea, after criticism following the Arsenal game. The win eased some of the pressure on the manager and the squad.
Chelsea now turns their attention to their next fixture, with Palmer back available and the team back to winning ways.
