Chiamaka Nnadozie was Nigeria’s hero in their opening group B clash at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Friday July 21.

When Francisca Ordega committed a foul to gift Canada a penalty kick, four minutes into the second half, there was palpable tension it was going in but the goalkeeper was up to the task.
Canada’s star forward Christine Sinclair stepped up and was dutifully denied by Chiamaka to keep the Randy Waldrum tutored Nigerian ladies in the game.
Her command of the defence line was key to keeping a clean sheet in Melbourne, a performance worthy of the Player of the match award.

The Super Falcons will next face co-hosts Australia in a game that will be key to their chances of progressing from group B.
Australia will reach the last-16 with a win over Nigeria, while a loss will put the Falcons against the wall before their last group match vs Republic of Ireland.
To achieve success, Chiamaka Nnadozie will be key for the Super Falcons. Her saves , composure and confidence will flow through to her teammate and inspire what could be a phenomenal outing at the World Cup.
Australia will definitely press the Falcons and so how well the goalkeeper fares will build momentum for the other players to get goals at the other end.
Nigeria will conclude their group fixtures vs debutants Republic of Ireland and if Chiamaka Nnadozie keeps the shape vs Canada, the Super Falcons will soar.
