Chidi Okezie qualifies for Paris Olympics

All-African Games Champion Chidi Okezie has secured his place at the Paris Olympics, storming to a Personal Best (PB) of 44.97 seconds to win the Men’s 400m at the Edmonton Athletics Invitational.

Okezie’s performance not only bettered the Olympic Standard but also earned him a coveted ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In a highly competitive race, Okezie finished ahead of Wil London III and DaeQwan Butler, who both clocked identical times of 45.55 seconds to take second and third place, respectively.

This remarkable achievement comes on the heels of Okezie’s stunning performance at the All-African Games in Ghana, where he ran a PB of 45.06 seconds in the men’s 400m final. This time was the fastest by a Nigerian athlete in nine years.
