Chukwueze nets as Villarreal fall to defeat against Barca
Youngster has scored thrice in his last two games for Villarreal
Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze was on the scoresheet for his side as they were defeated 2-1 at home by Barcelona in the La Liga on Sunday.
Chukwueze opened the scoring with a mix of skill, composure and great finishing. He ran in behind the Barcelona defence onto a through ball and calmly deceived Jordi Alba who was trailing him before rounding the Barcelona keeper and slotting into the back of the net from a tight angle in the 26th minute for his third goal this week. Barcelona mustered an immediate response through Antoine Griezmann after a brilliant ball over the top from Oscar Mingueza set him free and he lobbed the ball over the Villarreal keeper in the 28th minute. The comeback was completed when Pau Torres gifted Griezmann the ball to score his second of the game as Barca secured all three points in the game.
The win keeps Barcelona in the chase for the La Liga title and Villarreal are in 7th place, one point off 5th placed Real Sociedad as the league promises to have an exciting conclusion.
