Chukwueze registers beautiful assist in Villarreal’s big win
Villarreal stun Levante 5-0 on Monday night
Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze got his second league start of the season this evening at the Estadio de la Ceramica against Levante, and he did impress.
The 22-year-old delivered a brilliant cross in the 8th minute of the game after receiving a lovely pass from Manu Trigueros. He controlled the long ball nicely, and set-up striker Boulaye Dia with a fantastic cross from the right which the Senegalese headed in at far post for the opener.
The Unai Emery’s men waited only another five minutes before they doubled their lead as a Moi Gomez’s corner scraped through Vicente Iborra for Pau Torres to slot in at close range.
On 37 minutes, Gerard Moreno got a pass from Manu Trigueros and paced a few meters before firing in to get his side’s third goal.
Chukwueze was taken off in the 73rd minutes for Yeremi Santos. The game should his last for Villarreal this month as the winger will be off to team up with his Nigerian teammates ahead AFCON 2021.
Goals from Manu Trigueros and a second from Gerad Moreno sealed their win over Levante.
The victory ensured the Valencia-based club moved up two places to eight on La Liga table with 28 points.
Chukwueze has been in fine form recently, scoring four and registering one assist in his last 8 appearances for the Yellow Submarines.
