Chukwueze reminded the ‘Eto’o advise’ on what he needs to become a world class winger after impressing in Villarreal win

Samuel Chukwueze has been told to put in more work in just one area of his game to take a great leap to being a world class winger.

The 21-year-old general likened to the great Arjen Robben because of similar style of play was told months back by football legend Samuel Eto’o to work on one part of his game.

Samuel Chukwueze could do everything a modern winger does; could pass the ball, take on opponents, track back to help in defending and most importantly assist a goal like he did today.

But his goal return still a huge problem as he often make poor decision in the final third and fails to end his great movements into goals.

His goal return not exactly what a player of his quality should have and could be a lot better, hence, the reason Samuel Eto’o advised him to work on this aspect of his game.

“He is an incredible player who is growing in leaps and bounds and it’s just a matter of time,” Eto’o told Goal in May 2020.

“He is a quality player and he needs to score more goals, but he has the quality and ability to be more than just a goalscoring forward. Once he gets all of that he will be top.”

Today, after assisting Gerard Moreno goal for his side’s equalizer in their 2-1 win against Eibar he was reminded the same Eto’o advise.

“I really like him (Samuel Chukwueze), he has great pace, technique, ball control and dribbling skills, Jacek Kulig of the Football Talent Scout.

“But if he wants to become a top-class winger he just has to improve his decision making and finishing.

“Without that he won’t make a step forward.”

Samuel Chukwueze has started all two La Liga games played by the yellow submarines this new season, assisting one goal in two games.
