Chukwueze shines, Onyedika sees red as AC Milan beat Club Brugge 3-1 in Champions League clash
Super Eagles stars Samuel Chukwueze and Raphael Onyedika were on opposing sides as AC Milan defeated Club Brugge 3-1 in a thrilling Champions League encounter.
Raphael Onyedika started the match for Club Brugge but was sent off in the first half after a VAR review showed he had stepped on Tijjani Reijnders’ ankle. His red card gave AC Milan a significant advantage.
The Italian side capitalised on the extra man, with Christian Pulisic scoring the opener from a corner. Tijjani Reijnders then netted twice to seal AC Milan’s first Champions League win this season.
Despite playing with 10 men, Club Brugge managed to fight back briefly through Kyriani Sabbe’s second-half goal, but it was only a consolation.
Chukwueze came on in the second half and made an immediate impact. He set up Reijnders for his second goal, helping AC Milan secure the 3-1 victory.
Head coach Paolo Fonseca’s substitutions proved decisive, with both Chukwueze and Noah Okafor influencing the game. Okafor assisted Milan’s second goal, while Chukwueze’s creativity sealed the win for the Rossoneri.
AC Milan’s victory leaves them in a strong position as they look to advance in the Champions League, while Club Brugge will have to regroup for their next challenge.
